Who We Are

In some places, “Synergy” is defined as the interaction of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. Meaning we’re much better together than apart. This is what defines what Yanni & Yacky’s Stuff has become as one entity. The combination of our artsy and crafty expressions have brought us to where we are today from what was really a natural progression of occurrences.

The impetus for the beginnings of our business, did not stem from the need or want to start a business. In fact, it was Yanni’s love of hats that created the spark for what would become Yanni & Yacky’s Stuff. From berets, to newsboys, to baseball caps and fedoras, Yanni has a penchant for a nice head covering (we have bins in the basement to prove it)! After purchasing and shopping for several knitted/crocheted hats, we weren’t overly impressed with what we came across which made Yanni harken back to her youth when she first learned to crochet at the age of 7. Yacky suggested that perhaps she make her own hats that way she’d be more satisfied with what she was wearing. That turned into revitalizing her love for crocheting and shortly thereafter turned into taking a knitting class. The rest is…

The same can be said for the leather products and other things we began to create as we explored goods and products more suitable for our needs. Wanting to replace an old leather wallet, Yacky decided to take a shot at making one for himself. With the most rudimentary of tools (a hammer, nail and some very thick cotton thread) he took a $10 piece of leather and turned it into a finished product. In hindsight it was the ugliest thing that he ever made with two hands. But it would be the ignitor needed that lit the fire behind what we provide today.

In some ways we have always been very creative whether through the fine arts (painting, drawing, etc..) or finding some way to solve an existing problem in our daily lives. So in 2016, we finally decided to organize and monetize our creativity to form Yanni & Yacky’s Stuff LLC. Today we continue to explore new ways to simplify our lives and in turn, churn out timeless, beautiful products for you all to adore.
